“Anti-panic handles” refer to handles—typically used on emergency exit and fire-rated doors in crowded locations such as hospitals, offices, and shopping malls, or generally in high-traffic areas—that allow the user to open the door by means of a horizontal bar. The anti-panic handle consists of a spring-loaded metal bar extending across the width of the door. Pressing the metal bar releases the lock latch, allowing for the rapid exit of occupants.
